Fall 2023

At long last, we’re getting ready for a season of dancing that we might describe as “getting back to normal”.

We’re back at Wesley United Church Hall on Monday evenings from 7:30-9:30 starting on Sept 18th. Bring a friend – beginners are welcome!

The cost remains the same – $7 to drop in and a $10 registration fee for the year to cover our insurance. Bring your own water.

Masks will be optional unless something changes.

Fall 2020

Unfortunately our classes are still suspended due to the covid-19 pandemic and we’re not yet sure when we might be able to start up again. Please check back here or our Facebook page for updates.

Branch Classes suspended

It will come as little surprise to you learn that all Scottish Country dancing classes in the St. John’s (Newfoundland) Branch are now suspended for the duration of the covid-19 pandemic public health emergency.

We don’t know when dancing will resume but we will post an announcement here and/or on our Facebook page when they do.

To all Scottish Country dancers out there: stay safe and be well.

Class Cancelled

In view of the continuing State of Emergency in St. John’s, our Monday night class is cancelled tonight.

At present, we expect the Thursday night class to go ahead.

Also, for those who may not have been notified by email, the St Andrews Society have cancelled this year’s Burns Supper.

dancing dates – update

The Monday night class will not meet on October 14th (Thanksgiving), October 21st (Election Day), and November 11th (Remembrance Day).

Everyone is invited to attend the Thursday night class at St. David’s on the three weeks and those who have paid for the full term will not be charged the drop-in fee.

Lastly – save the date – our Fall Social will be a St. Andrew’s Night Social on November 30th. Watch for details.

Canada Day Dancing

The regular Summer dancing folk have decided that there should be dancing on Monday – Canada Day.

So, if your Canada Day plans are still flexible, consider adding a bit of social dancing to them.

Usual time and place: 7:30 pm at St. David’s Presbyterian Church Hall

Word has it that a programme of very Canadian dances will be danced!

Summer Dancing Begins!!

Are you pining for a bit of dancing?

Pine no more!

Summer dancing starts this coming Monday, June 3rd, 7:30 pm at St. David’s Presbyterian Church Hall, Elizabeth Ave.

If you can’t come until 8pm, don’t worry about that.

The drop-in fee is $7.

Bring a dance to share with everyone if you like.

If you are travelling out of province and dancing somewhere else over the summer, this is a great chance to try out dances from a programme.

If you are a visitor to our province, you are most welcome to join us and to share a favourite dance from your group with us.
